Abstract
The patient with chronic soreness from denture presents an extremly difficult problem for prosthodontic treatment. This condition is caused mainly by severely resorbed residual ridges, senile atrophy resulting in a thin lamina propria layer, or
diminished resistance to irritation due to nutritional or physiologic problems.
Dentures that cannot be adjusted by conventional means may be relined with a long-lasting resilient material. The soft resilient liner often provides satisfactory comfort for several months or years if properly placed and properly cared for by
patient.
Technique for placement of resilient denture liners have been described by the manufactures of the various products. However, almost all long-lasting resilient liners require a somewhat complex laboratory procedure. This article describes a
technique
for placement of a long-lasting Molloplast-B that can be placed easily in the dental office.
